Exposing myself with Leadership. . .
Exposing myself with leadership works in TUP GEAR as one of the Co-Founders and a former CTO, I was able to develop skills as we collaborate with different people, organizations, and brands in the success of our projects in the field of esports and gaming in the Philippines, specifically in collegiate scene.
TUP - Manila's Gaming Enthusiasts Association Ring - the pioneer organization of TUP Manila in the field of esports and gaming. Founded in September 23, 2019 by Joril Belen, Christian Altar, Kenneth Balane, Christian Balagot, and John Lourd Alejo. TUP GEAR's mission is to facilitate a social community made by students for students which work together towards pushing Gaming and Esports into mainstream acceptance and educate students on videogames appreciation as a form of art.
Working with Sun Life Global Solutions. . .
Few months after I graduated, Sun Life welcomed me as one of their Tech Associate assigned with the Asia DevSecOps team. With help of my colleagues and mentors, I learned the fundamentals as I was exposed to different technologies especially when I was reassigned to Asia DevSecOps - Research & Development squad a few months after I joined Sun Life. Being exposed enabled me to enhance my skills as I contribute to projects by developing and enhancing their CI/CD automations / pipelines, which helped me advance to DevSecOps Engineer 1 after two years of being with Sun Life.
In my 2nd year, I was given the role with HK Market DevSecOps team as one of their Engineers. With the help of my new team, we were able to deliver projects that improved the development and operational processes. I was also given the role to lead the team in delivering projects as we transitioned to a new ways of working with the adoption of Agile methodologies. In addition, I also dabbled with Scrum methodologies as I was occassionally assigned the role of Scrum Master to help the team adapt to the new ways of working.
